Sunday afternoons meant serious record shopping no less than 3 hours but no more than 5 records. Decadence meets moderation.

Even the coolest of Dads have rules luckily hers included a mandatory weekly shopping spree. Massive consumption led to being taken/going to shows locally, nationally and internationally...from clubs to stadiums to Glastonbury to Red Rocks to Montreux to Spike Island to Reading, etc ...

Concerts led to writing about music in fanzines and weeklies...from The Hipster Press to Tasty World to Creative Loafing,etc...

Curiosity led to picking out chords. Playing led to being in bands. Being in bands led to occasionally photographing them...

Being in bands also led to working at record stores...from Wax 'n' Facts to Wuxtry to Turtles to Newbury Comics, etc...

Talking to customers led to volunteering, internships and stints on community and college radio...from WCLK to WRFG to WRAS,etc...

Working for Indie Retailers led to volunteering, internships and working for Indie Labels/Management Companies ...

All of which led to being a college rep and from there to being a "kid with initials"...from CMR to FMR to APDC to SMM to MD to NAMD from PGD to BMG to SonyBMG...and all along the way avidly listening to,talking about, seeing, sometimes playing and working in music and yes, still buying every week, usually on Sunday afternoons.
