Jay Gilbert


Jay Gilbert most recently was the Director of Digital Strategy for Starbucks Entertainment, being the point for all initiatives in the Apple + Starbucks partnership. Prior to that he was the Vice President of New Media and Online Marketing for Universal Music Enterprises, responsible for actively seeking out, evaluating, and executing business opportunities for Universal Music in the New Media field as well as coordinating and executing online marketing plans. Jay was instrumental in making Universal's vast catalog available and marketed online.

A well-respected leader in both the music and new media fields, Gilbert served as both a representative and key decision maker for Universal Music's new media efforts.

Gilbert launched UMe Digital, a revolutionary new label available exclusively via commercial download services. Gilbert worked for Universal for 18 years, most recently the Senior Director of Affiliate Development for Universal's business development groups, eLabs, and Senior Director of Logistics for Universal Music Logistics. Prior to that, he was the Senior Director of Sales for Universal Music & Video Distribution. Jay is a 25-year music-industry veteran and has served in senior management positions for Universal Music Group, Sony Music and Sanctuary Records.
