Atlantic Records

Livia Tortella is the GM/Executive VP of Marketing and Creative Media at Atlantic Records. She began her career in 1989 at PolyGram Canada in A&R, and then continued as a product manager for artists on newly acquired labels Island and Def Jam, in addition to Mercury, London, and Beggars Banquet Music Group. After transferring to New York and spending 5 years at Island Def Jam Music Group, she joined Atlantic following its merger with Elektra in 2004.

In the past 10 years, Tortella has helped develop the careers of numerous artists including Paramore, Death Cab For Cutie, Rob Thomas and Kid Rock. Moreover, she has facilitated the launch of several new label ventures, most notably Chop Shop Records, whose Twilight soundtrack debuted at #1 and has been certified double platinum by the RIAA.

Tortella’s focus at Atlantic lies in business and digital product development, such as establishing artist fan clubs, merchandise products and direct-to-consumer strategy. Atlantic's innovation in digital marketing has made them the first major label ever to earn 50% of their revenue from digital products.
