Jon Vlassopulos, CEO, Skyrockit

Jon Vlassopulos is CEO of skyrockit, a leading mobile entertainment studio. He is recognized as a digital media and advertising visionary, having consistently created successful industry firsts throughout his career in the areas of mobile, Internet, television, music and gaming. He oversees skyrockit’s business as both a leading developer of mobile brand experiences and a developer of innovative mobile music services, such as the award-winning Virtual Zippo lighter, as well as mobile campaigns and products for companies that include GAP, NBC Universal, Symantec, Intel, 50 cent/vitaminwater, and Kraft Foods. Jon has helped solidify the company’s status as the only mobile content firm that works consistently with all four Tier 1 U.S. mobile carriers (AT&T Mobility, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless).

Previously, Jon was the senior vice president, digital media & branded entertainment for Endemol, where he was responsible for building Endemol’s worldwide digital business and growing the company into new areas such as casual gaming and branded entertainment. Prior to Endemol, he served as Senior Director, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at AT&T Wireless, where he launched major media brands on AT&T services, directed the launch of the first wireless music service, and ran major mobile marketing campaigns. Earlier, Jon was with Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), where he held multiple executive positions, and helped to create the company’s global digital strategy while working across Bertelsmann divisions in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Jon received his undergraduate degree in Chinese, Economics, and Korean from Durham University, in England. He currently serves on the board of NATPE (National Association of Television Programming Executives), and on the national board of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) New Media Council.
